Time is just rushing by so fast. It has now been nearly 6 weeks since I had my Lap Band and things are going great. I have lost 9kg so far so that is wonderful. On the ANZAC weekend I went to SBC annual retreat. As usual had a great time catching up with all the girls this years theme was masquerade night. I was running out of time so I just bought my mask this time instead of making it. Here is a photo of all who participated in wearing a mask.

In a few days time it will be Jodie's 40th birthday and Deb and I have done her an album well actually in the 6 weeks that Jodes gave us lol we actually did 2 albums so I can't wait for her to see them. The girls are going great guns but chances are they may not be too happy soon as I am fostering another Greyhound he has been returned to the program due to his owners getting divorced his name is Popeye(good grief) I don't know what is happening with the greyhound walks our last one was 6 weeks ago I hope they start up again soon. Grace and Milly will post the pictures from their last walk up on their blog.I will leave you with some of my lastest Layouts

for the past 12months I have not been happy with my weight and I realised that I had to do something about it and make it permanent. Well after the cruise the decision was made so much easier for me and on the 26th March 2009 I went and had Gastric Lap Banding. Yes drastic measure but I was in a drastic situation. I won't go on about my reasons blah blah blah but it was not a decision I made lightly. Well its been 2 days since the operation and other than feeling sore and sorry for myself everything appears to be going ok. I am on a fluid only diet for about 3 weeks to allow the band to settle it is so nice to taste yummy things again especially after the 2 weeks of being on optifast which was just revolting. I started off at 102kg and I am currently at 96.9. Heres to a new life for me a much happy and healthier one

Well holidays have been and gone and I am back to work again. It actually took me 10 days to recover from the cruise. We did have a grat time it was just the lack of sleep and the constant state of feeling full that put a bit of a dampener on the holiday but we did have fun. I have done a couple of layouts recently have even been having problems with that as well but I think that that problem might be sorting itself out.
Andrew has moved in with my sister for a while and Freyer has broken up with Will and has moved back in with us. So we lose one and gain one lol. The "girls" adoptions have finally been finalised so they are offically Uittenbosch's. I am just waiting for my next foster dog it will be a boy this time.
Bit of sad news SBC has closed its forum but at least we still have the retreat to look forward to. Some of the girls and I are playing over at Scrapping Outback. I will leave you with some layouts that I have completed

Late start to the day due to lack of sleep AGAIN. But it was ok as we are cruising all day. The weather is absolutely gorgeous not a cloud in the sky and the ocean is as flat as a pancake. I went up to the parents retreat (place you go that has no kids) and layed on a nice comfy day bed and was able to have as much NZ ice-cream as I wanted. It was wonderful I even managed to finish a book I had started. All in all a great day. Tomorrow is Tauranga

Welcome to Wellington the capital of NZ. Today is another beautiful day and we are taking the city tour. We took a cable car ride then went out to Mt Victoria for beautiful 360 degree views of this pretty city. As we were going through the city we noticed a lot of people in costumes and as the day wore on more and more people were wearing costumes. We did not quite understand why till some one said that the Rugby 7's was on and the Kiwi's were playing that afternoon in the stadium that was right next to the Ship. The stadium is nick-named "the Cake Tin" for obvious reasons – it looks like a cake tin – lol. It was a fantastic site to behold. There were people everywhere and in such high spirits. Mind you a lot of people did not quite make it to the stadium but they seemed perfectly happy just wondering the streets going from pub to pub. Poor Kiwi's lost in the final seconds to the Pommie's . Tomorrow is a cruise day as we travel up to Tauranga.

Arrived in Christchurch today and for some weird reason I thought it would be great if we went horse riding WHAT WAS I THINKING when I booked that tour. The stomach started churning as we approached our horses nooooooo Jen not a good idea. Ok just get on the damn thing and smile smile smile. Ok so far so good we are on the horse AND we have made it out of the gate. We travel down this gravel path with tree's along both sides so my horse decides it time for a snack so out of order we go and head for the nearest tree " Jenny pull the rein to the right and give him a little dig in the sides" yeah right easier said than done. Quite frankly if Noble wants to eat let him I say but alas he is not suppose to so eventually we get back in line only to have the little bugger go to the other side and start munching so we start the process all over again. Finally we continue along our merry way to the river bank. The water is sooooo beautiful the river is called "Waimakiriri" it comes down from the mountains and is that green/bluey colour. We start riding along the riverbank and dear old Noble's eye start twitching to the left oh great whats up this time. On the river bank is a big orange kite and low and behold the horses have not seen one before so this makes Noble a bit nervous. The guide asked the guys if they could leave it on the ground whilst the horses are close but that is not good enough for dear old Noble. He decides he wants to put a bit of distance between him and the kite so he starts to prance around and carry on I scream or swear very loudly can't quite remember but I just pulled on those reins till he stood still. GET ME OFF THIS MANIAC HORSE. We manage to get back to the stables without further incident I was just relieved to be off the wretched thing lol. Our next adventure was jet boating WOW what a scream that was. We could'nt believe how shallow the water was in some places I mean I am talking about a couple of inches if that. The weather was fantastic and riding in the jet boat was the perfect ending to an interesting day. We actually did not get a chance to see the actual city of Christchurch today so we will just have to come back again. Our "poltergeist" is still banging around so sleeping is hit and miss some nights. The maintenance people keep trying to sort out the problem so hopefully the banging will finally cease. We arrived in Dunedin about 8am and no expense was spared on the weather. What a glorious day. This is the first day since we left that we have touched land. Ed went on his Speights Beer Tour and I went out to the Otago Peninsular to see seals and penguins. We arrived at Natures Wonders Naturally which is set high on a hill over looking the ocean with gorgeous views N,S,E &W. We got our special jackets on then jumped in the 8 wheeled quads and set out to see the seals. OH DAMN did not quite understand about driving in the Argo's I thought just a nice little drive around the property stopping to see the sites BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that was not the case we drive uphill and down dale over things underthings we spun round in circles I HATE 4 X 4 driving so you can imagine my horror at 8 X 8 driving and the more I cringed and squealed and swore as we bounced over obstacles the more our driver enjoyed my dismay (bastard lol) but the sight of seeing the seal colony made up for everything. It was one of the most amazing sites so of course my camera went beserk I am sure I had one seal doing posers for me (lol) next stop after going up what I felt was the equivalent of that street in San Francisco that goes up down up down then up up up then down down down was Penguin Beach and low and behind there was one tiny penguin all by himself thank god for zoom lenses. Back to the ship we went and arrived at the same times as Ed's beer tour. Good grief maybe sending him on a beer tour by himself was not the best idea lol but he enjoyed it and that is what this holiday is all about. Ed is still plodding along with his roulette strategy and I am plodding along with my feeding of the poker machines lol. Next stop is Christchurch.

Holy crap what happen to the weather it is absolutely freezing this morning. AAAAHHHHHH but what a morning. Today we officially started our tour of NZ. We arrived at Milford Sound about 7ish the wind was blowing a gale and it was a wind that just chilled you to the bone. But the views of Milford were so worth it. What a gorgeous place. Once we entered the sound the wind died down and not a ripple on the water could be seen. The only thing to be heard was the low rumbling of the ships engine. I can only imagine what a spectacular sight the Pacific Sun made travelling up Milford Sound. The sun came up over the mountain and it turned into a glorious day, chilly but gorgeous. In Milford we had to enter and exit talk about turning the ship on a postage stamp that was highly impressive onya Captain Philpot. Once we exited Milford we went seaward again for a bit then into Thompson Sound. Thompson Sound lead into Doubtful Harbour which in turn took us seaward again then we entered Dusky Sound in the afternoon. We sailed through Dusky Sound and by early evening continued our journey onwards to Dunedin.

Ah the shorts are being replaced by jeans and jumpers. we are getting close and of course the weather has turned to crap. We did the same thing today as we did yesterday so no use repeating it. I will say that I am surprised at the number of frail looking elderly people that are on board. This is just #NOF city waiting to occur. I do like having all the oldies around it makes me feel young mind you I am huffing and puffing like most of them I am sometimes tempted to pinch their oxygen. Yeah yeah my fault and I know what I have to do. Tonight was a right disaster with the sleeping arrangements it felt like we had a poltergeist somewhere near us as all I could hear was doors slamming and then at some stage during the night it felt like a coal train was passing beneath us the noise was so loud I tried to whinge to Ed but of course after 8 beers he was'nt real interested so I decided to go to the pursers desk and try and see if we could get transferred to another room as the boat is not at full capacity. Alas no joy there ship might not be at capacity but the rooms where all taken with a lot of individual travelers don't these people realize I need my beauty sleep I mean A LOT of beauty sleep. The night manager even sent a little Indian man down with me to our cabin so that he could try and hear the noises. That's great me bringing home a strange man to our cabin and whispering to him not to stand on my husband who was sleeping on a mattress on the floor (that's another story) yeah lot of good that did. finally got off the sleep about 4am which was really 1am Brisbane time only to be woken at 6am which was 3am Brisbane time because we were about to enter Milford Sound. Ah but that story is tomorrow.

Paddling Across The South Pacific Monday 2nd February, 2009

Day 2 finds us a bit overcast with a slight chill in the air. Yet another late start to the day we seemed to have found our pattern. We mossied around the ship, had a chat with Ugly Dave Gray, did our quiz sat about and read sent an email mind you it cost me $13 just to do that as the internet is via Satellite. Thought about everyone back home and hoping everything is ok. Hope you girls are behaving yourselves with Lisa. Ed continues to gamble on roulette and winning I continue to gamble on the pokies and losing. Ed bought me a gold (not real gold) charm bracelet watch that I absolutely love now I just have to talk him into the matching necklace. We go each day up to the duty free shop and pick a new perfume and cologne to try for the evening – yeah I know rather pathetic but hey we smell good. I wander through the art gallery admiring some rather beautiful pieces I am hoping that Ed will say how about we get that Nechita (she is the modern day Picasso and is extremely famous) but I won't hold my breath. I am working my way through the cocktail list and having regular Nana naps in the afternoon. Unfortunately sleeping at night has become a big problem for me and it does not help by having dinner at 830pm. Each night they take an hour off us so that we gradually swap to NZ time. A New Day Dawns Sunday 1st February 2009

No early start today. So much for promises of getting up at dawn and doing everything. It went "whats the time" "0640" "too early" "ok" "whats the time "0930" "damn better get out" and so the day began. We had a nice big cooked breakfast then went off to the quiz. We found some quiz partners 2 older couples and did fairly well we organized to meet for the afternoon quiz and that was the start of our daily routine. After quiz it was time to hit the decks and take advantage of the nice weather so we slipped slopped slapped and went and found a couple of deck chairs and settled in for a nice snooze in the sun. Oh dear someone did'nt quite slip slop slap properly and ended up with sunburnt upper legs (yes me). Tonight is formal night so out came the tummy,butt,thigh, waist, hip tuck in torture suit. Let me tell you never try and squeeze your body into lycra with sunburnt legs. It is not an experience one wants to go through too often. After another wonderful dinner it was entertainment time and tonight it was none other than "Ugly Dave Gray" he was quite funny and has not really changed too much over the years. After that it was time to GET THIS BODY OUT OF THE LYRCA. Once I was rid of the wretched lycra it was back to the casino to be once again entranced by the colours, bells, and that ever elusive 15 free games call of the poker machine. Eddie went and tried his luck with his "special" roulette strategy – which is actually working very nicely for him. Unfortunately my strategy of crossing my fingers and talking to the machine did not work and I lost another $10. Oh well better luck next time.

Today's the day today's the day. All aboard the Pacific Sun for a 14 day cruise to the land of the "long white cloud" – New Zealand. Wonderful mummy dropped us off at the port of Brisbane where we boarded the revamped Pacific Sun. I love the thrill of embarking on a journey everything is so wonderful and exciting. Once we boarded we could'nt wait to find our cabin. Because we booked a special kind of cabin they did not give us a room number so we had to wait till we boarded. I was hoping that we would get upgraded to a really nice cabin but as we headed down level after level I knew we were'nt going to get the luxurious first class cabin and as we headed to the front of the boat my hopes soared again when it appear that maybe we would be getting an outside cabin with a window - Nope no window. When we found our cabin right up the front of the boat we were actually quite surprised the cabin space was bigger than all the previous cruises we had been on. Granted there was still the bunk beds but we were use to that. So all in all it was a very comfortable cabin and it would do nicely as our home for the next 2 weeks.. Back up top it was time for the drinking to begin and wait for the tell tale sound of the horn that would tell us that it was time to leave the Port and sail away. Looking around at all the people on the boat I began to notice a common theme, wheel chairs and oxygen tanks holy cow it looked like all the retirement villages in Brisbane had converged on the Pacific Sun for their annual holiday. It was quite good actually because I felt young and a live and did not have to spend the whole holiday staring at all those young chicks with their perky boobs and gorgeous figures the bummer part was that there was no real eye candy-oh well. Finally after an hours delay the horn sounded and the last rope was cast off and we were underway. Ok now what to do we have said good-bye to Brisbane and we were headed for Caloundra were we would say goodbye to our "pilot" then we turned east then south and headed for New Zealand we would be at sea till Wednesday morning when we cruised through Milford Sound. Back on deck the sail away party was in full swing. By now we'd had a few drinks and I was starting to feel the "rhythm of the beat" it was Congo Line time. "Here Ed hold my drink I'ma gunna Congo" da da da da daaaaaa DA da da da da daaaaaaaa DA.. That was fun and low and behold I managed to get myself on video doing a very bad congo dance. We went to dinner and met our dining companions for the next 2 week and low and behold one couple came from our suburb AND knew someone I worked with who would of figured. As usual dinner was absolutely superb. After dinner we went to the Casino and Ed started playing roulette with his specially design strategy. Me I just headed off to feed the pokies. After finishing at the casino we settled in bed and lights out I close my eyes only to have them forced open with and almighty BANG. Holy shit what was that did we hit a whale or something is this going to be a replay of the Titanic if so were the hell is Leo to rescue me instead of snoring Ed. Then again BANG oh no it was no whale. It was the waves hitting against the bow of the boat oh DAMN was'nt this going to be fun. When the waves were crashing against the bow you could hear the water lapping against the boat it sounded like it was right underneath us. Thank goodness for the sway of the ship it was liked being rocked in a cradle and soon the waves were a distant sound and the excitement of the day faded away as sleep became my new best friend.

Hello and HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY. It has been a good start to the year so far. Mum celebrated her 65th Birthday on the 16th January and we went out to one of those cook your own meal on a stone grill restaurant. I chose the usual meal - steak. andrew was a bit more daring and he had the barramundi, crocodile and kangaroo. he like the barra and croc but not too fussed on skippy.

On the 24th January we celebrated Freyers 18th Birthday.

She went out for the day with her mum, boyfriend, grandparents and sisters. I got some balloons, set the table really nice and cooked dinner. It was a nice evening.Her and Will are living at Redcliffe with Wills son Chayse so far so good

The "girls" are going along nicely. Just waiting to finalise their "adoption" then there will be two more Uittenbosch females in the house lol. well it is only 3 more sleeps then off on our cruise we go. We leave for NZ on the Pacific Sun on Saturday 31st for 2 weeks we are really looking forward to this holiday. Yay its been its gone. Now if I could just find my sanity life will be back to normal. CHRISTMAS IS OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR. It was'nt as bad as I thought. We had a great family christmas eve except the "girls" did not appear to be overly thrilled lol and Ed and I did not get out of bed till midday on christmas day just in time for me to go to work. Scored pretty well off Santa. and the girls scored pretty good as well. Grace's favourite toy (which she got for christmas) is now the "mooing" cow that she carries around the house.Anyway what I really wanted to post about is the latest "trick" my son has mastered on his bike. Its no wonder I have grey hair anyway have a look and let me know your thoughts lol.

Some good news on the Freyer front she has finally broken up with the "dead beat" and has moved on. Her current "beau" is a lovely guy named Will. Ed, Kylie and I like him alot. He is 23 and also has full care of his 3 year old son Chayse who is just the most delightful little guy who absolutely loves Milly. Now you may be thinking how the hell is Freyer going to deal with a boyfriend AND child well she will just have to. As we all know she is very strong minded so she will find a way to deal with the situation. The 3 of them are actually moving up to Redcliffe this weekend. Yes she is still only 17 well she will be 18 on the 24th january but she nows what she wants and by hell nothing will stand in her way of getting it so we just let her go and keep an eye on things from the sideline. DECK THE HALLS WITH BELLS AND HOLLY FALALALA LALALALALA etc etc.
Well it is that time of year again. Huge ques at the checkouts. christmas music playing over and over and over in the shops. Sweat soaked santas with piddle stained pants from all the "Good" little boys and girls who scream everytime they see the "man in the red suit" and who are trying desparately to hide under mums skirt/dress rather than go and sit on a strangers lap who by the way have been told over and over "Don't talk to Strangers" HELLO. IT'S CHRISTMAS joy of all joys. Yes if you think I am being rather cynical then you are right. But don't get me wrong I do love the festivities of christmas I just hate the hussle and bussle of "what do I get so and so for christmas" and where are we going to have christmas day with flies and humidity this year. I would just love to have get togethers with family and friends and celebrate the joy of being together. Anyway I think I have killed christmas enough so far so lets find something pleasant to talk about. Dad and Joy came up last week and stayed the week with us. It was nice to have them we had a family get together as we won't be seeing them for christmas this year they are off to Lakes Entrance with their great mates Jules and Peter. Allison and the kids came over and we had a BBQ

Of course the "girls" got into the christmas spirit and wore their christmas tinsel (they really did enjoy it lol)
On Saturday the 29th Nov we had Scrapbook City's awards night and christmas party.There were so many ladies there it was good to catch up with the girls. Lauren and Carole came down from Gladstone as Carole was teaching a class. The girls also stayed with me it was so lovely to have them. We started off the Saturday by visiting a couple of scrapbook shops on my side of town then we joined up with Ronnie, Niss, Sue, Sandra for lunch.
Then we drove over to Graceville State School were we spent the afternoon and evening scrapping and chatting with the rest of the girls. Lauren, Rachael and Sandra each won an award for layouts that they entered into the awards night. The evening ended at about 930pm. Lauren, Carole and I went back to my place where we spent till 0215 scrapping and chatting. I finished Carole's layout from the class. Well that is enough chatting for one post so I will try and be a good girl and get another post in before christmas. Well I really have'nt been doing much lately and especially not scrapping. I have been devoting a lot of my time to Grace. I absolutely love her to pieces. I loved having a greyhound so much that I fostered another greyhound called "Archie" but he left last week to go to his "forever home" he has gone to live with a vet. I am having a little break to give "Grace" a bit of one on one time. I will definetly get another one in a couple of weeks. As of Monday I am going to be the peri-operative educator for 2 weeks while the current person is in Germany (lucky devil). Believe me I am absolutely packing it as it is a BIG job I am currently an acting NO2 and this job is an NO4. I definetly won't have any nails left lol. I have been making a few cards lately which I quite like. Now that christmas is approaching I will be making a few more. I DID do a layout last night it was about Andrew's 17th Birthday. It was his first party since he was 6. As a rule I don't let Andrew drink( although on occasion I know he has) but as he was I allowed him to have a few drinks. Maybe I should of watched him a bit closer but what 17 year old wants his parents hanging around. Anyway to cut a long story short, by 1030pm the party was over and Andrew was asleep on the dogs bed. Hello friends. Well I have finally decided what to do about getting a dog. For months I have been bebating about getting a dog. (you know how sad it was when I lost the birds) so I have been worrying about what I would do if I lost a dog. But I so want a new companion and Ed just won't lay at my feet and let me walk him with a leash lol so a couple of months ago I found out about GAP (Greyhound Adoption Program) this is where all ex-racer go unless their owners take them out and shoot them when their racing career is over. But before they can become pets they have to be "de-programmed" and that is where "foster parents" come in. You get a dog (everything supplied by GAP) and basically you teach them how to adapt to becoming a pet like letting them inside the house, teaching them to walk up and down stairs, introducing them to glass doors yes they will keep trying to walk through it and all other things that normal dogs take for granted but because a greyhound is a "business" dog it has no idea how act as a "pet" so for 4-6 weeks that will be my job yahhhhh I finally get to use my "clinical education" certificate even though it will be on a dog instead of students. This way I will find out once and for all if I am a "doggy" person if I find that I am getting attached and want to keep the dog then I put the paperwork in for the adoption. so I feel I am on a win win situation if it does not work out then I just give the dog back. A lady is coming around next tuesday to 'interview" me so hopefully in the near future I am going to be a "mummy" again. JUNE 15TH 2008

Well another birthday has been and gone. On June 15th I turned 42 it was a nice day I got lots of presents like my new travel album for my europe album I am doing at the moment and have nearly finished. I got the new "big Bite" from cropadile and I had a Stampin Up party with friends from work and my scrapping community. Also on Sunday morning one of my most dearest friend Donna came down and we had morning tea. Donna and I don't see that much of each other these days but we were practically inseparable when we we younger I have know the family all my life. I am one of the truly lucky ones who has that life time friend she will always be an important part of my life whether we see each other once a year or once a decade she is never far from my mind. Her first child Alex is only 3 days older than Andrew so we even went through our pregnancy together. I stopped at one but Don went on to have 3 more kids

On Friday the 13th I had a Pajama party at Scrapbook City It was soooo much fun with Ronnie, Milly, Terri, Debbie, Sue, Kerri, Niss and Anne one of our other regular Friday night scrappers Sandra was unable to attend because the lucky bugger is in Italy for 2 months. So all in all if was a good weekend. Dad and Joy came up from Laurieton for a visit. Dad has gone up to the Sunshine coast to visit friends and Joy has gone up to Townsville to see her grandchildren from her son Geoff. Geoff is still in Iraq at the moment hopefully he will be home safe and sound soon. Mum had minor hiccup that landed her a Logan Hospital ED on Friday night then we took a trip to Sunnybank Private for some more test but everything turned out OK so I bought her home about Lunch time on Saturday. Poor ole Aunt Aino (pronounced eye-na)has had more surgery this time she had a herniated disc in her back so back to the Mater Private for her I keep telling her so is collecting frequent patient points that is now 3 trips to the Mater Private in about 12 months well done aunt lol. Anyway I will leave you with some piccys

FRIDAY JUNE 13TH 2008

On Thursday 12th of June, mum received and award at parliament house for her contribution she has made over the last 25 years to kidney transplant patients. It was an honour she so deserved especially as she will be retiring soon so mum this post is for you, your family are so proud of you, congratulations

Our program was set up to honour and recognise the work carried out by hundreds of people daily in hospitals and medical clinics to assist over 14,000 Australians remain alive on dialysis and transplantation. It also recognises the commitment of family, friends and work colleagues of kidney patients.

Dialysis and transplantation are the primary treatment options but there is no cure for kidney disease. The continuing shortfall in the supply of kidney donors, and simultaneous 6% increase in people on dialysis, is an alarming trend which may result in even more deaths among those waiting for a transplant.

In celebration of Kidney Health Australia's 40th Anniversary, we will be honouring 40 individuals around Australia

ok no excuses just going to get into the post.
Well the Scrapbook City Retreat has been and gone but what a fantastic time we had. The retreat really is the highlight of my year. Its a great time to spend with friends and just chill and scrap and laugh and laugh. We had a great dress up this year our group went as characters from the Wizard of Oz (I was the tin man.

I also did some fundraising at the retreat for Zoe (Eddie's nephews girlfriends daughter) who has a liver tumour (she is only 18) I managed (with some great donations) to raise over $550. Its my birthday next month and I have organized a couple of exciting events (won't go into details here as I don't won't to become the next Corey Worthington lol) but most people who read my blog know and those that do read my blog but don't know and are intersted send me an email and I can tell you what is happening. Hello friends
Well what has been happening. lets see. Freyer moved in which I told you about last time then 2 weeks later she moved out and went to live with the boyfriend or should I say FIANCE. yes yes I know. but at least she is still out of hospital and is doing well. Bruce the father magpie has chased off (I think) the male baby magpie whinny, So now I just have the 3 of them. Ralph is doing fine it appears that he has made the leukamia for years and is just know starting to be symptomatic. The doctors are just going to watch him for the time being. Aunt's surgery went well and she has recovered nicely from that. Andrew had a fall at work in january and had been complaining about a sore wrist for ages. Being the great mother that I am I just ignored him as it did not seem to stop him from riding his bike anyway I finally got an xray and it showed no fractures just a ganglion on his wrist so my GP sent us to an orthopaedic speacialist, he had one look at the xray and said that Andrew had a fractured scaphoid (fractured wrist bone) so ended up in plaster the day before we left for Gladstone at easter am I a bad mother or what lol. the plaster came off on Thursday and it has healed nicely. Well it is only 4 more sleeps till Scrapbook City Retreat. We are all like little kids hopping up and down and clapping our hands. We're all so excited. Scrapbook City do the best retreats. A couple of weeks ago I purchased the cricut expression. I love it love it love it. It has opened up the world of scrapping especially combined with the cricut design studio. Whilst at the retreat I will be doing some fundraising for a member of Ed's family who is only 18 and has a nasty tumour in her liver. Kerri and Leisa have so kindly allowed me to do some fund raising so all those that are coming bring your loose change.The prize basket is getting nice and big with kind donations from Ronnie, Kaisercraft, Blue Bazzar, Susan from Stampin Up, Peata from Scrapbook crazy. Thank you very much for your kind donations. Last Saturday the 12th April we went up to Sommerset Dam. It was a really nice day the kids had fun being towed behind the boat in the inflated toys. Allison had a go and screamed the whole dam down. I have done a few layouts which I will post. Even Andrew had a go plaster and all. Mum put a plastic bag on his arm (yeah right like that was going to stop the water from getting in) but he had a great time. Anyway that is about all I will try and be better I promise lol. As I really don't have a lot to say I will try and do Terri's challenges. Ok I have to catch up with last week so here goes MY FAVOURITE THINGS.
*I love to Scrap- The reason I love doing this so much is that I get to escape real life if just for a little while. Sometimes my head gets soooo full I think I will scream so I either go to my LSS and just look around or I head to my room and pull out a photo and see what I can come up with.
*My friends - friends are so important to me as they help me get through the day and make my life that little bit better.
*My Magpies-I love my maggies they always make me smile. I love to watch their daily interactions and to watch them grow.
*My Canon 350D- I really enjoy looking through the eye piece always hoping to get that perfect shot.
* 80's music. Wow what a time to be a teenager. When I listen to 80's music especially the early 80's memories come flooding back.
These are just a few of my favourite things Isn't that a song lol.

Well are'nt the days just flying by we are already into March. The last couple of weeks have been up and down. Mums partner Ralph was diagnosed with Acute Lympocystic Leukaemia it looks he has had it for a long time we just have to see how things go. Aunty Aino (pronounced Eye-na)had to have surgery for a blocked artery and is doing really well. She should get out next Wednesday then she is going down to mums place for a week or so. Mum went on Long Long service leave on the 29th February this is just the prelude to RETIREMENT DAY boy is that hospital going to miss her that is one big hole that needs to be filled. Actually I don't think anyone will be able to do the job she did with the same amount of passion and caring. Unfortunately it will be the patient that suffer. I finally won a challenge at SBC yay for me lol
Miss Freyer moved in last Sunday. The first few days were a bit stressful for me not that she did anything wrong I was just getting use to having 2 teenagers in the house. Its been a week so far and there have been no major dramas yet. We have laid down the rules and so far so good. She is eating really well at the moment so lets just see what happens. I decided I needed a bit of a change so I coloured my hair last week. I thought it turned out ok considering it was a home job and only semi permanent well a week later it is starting to look a little bit on the pinkish side so I will have to watch that lol. .My maggies are doing really well. They are growing into fine young birds.

One more week and then 3 weeks holiday. Over Easter we are going up to Gladstone to see Nancy and Stephen and while I am there I am hoping to have some good quality scrapping time with Carole and Lauren. I have nearly paid off the retreat in April that will be soooo much fun.

Well I have'nt mentioned my maggie's for a while. They are doing beautifully except I do seem to be missing one. I only seem to get 2 out of the 3 babies coming down. I love the afternoons when I come home from work and dish out the bread and honey for the lorikeets and seed for the other birds and then the mince for the magpies. About 2 weeks ago I bit the bullet and purchased the Cricut Design Studio from Scrapbook City. I must say it is one of the greatest purchases I have made in a long time. It costs $145.00 but it was soooo worth it. To be able to make words and shapes and my own designs however I want is fantastic. I have to save up for the cricut expression next.If you own a cricut/cricut expression and purchase this little gem you won't be sorry. Seems I got a bit carried away yesterday raving on about my holidays and I forgot the most important post of 2007 CHRISTMAS. How could I forget to post about christmas. ok so here is a recap. Christmas Eve we had Mum, Ralph and my dear Aunt Aino over (who is as wacky as all heck, but in a sane way)we had a BBQ and then opened our presents. I think I will start to have "christmas day" on christmas eve. It was much more fun and cooler. for some reason my family like to give me alcohol even my husband so I ended up with a bottle of bundy, a bottle of scotch and a bottle of Omni. I also received my fantabulous cuttlebug from mum and remote control for my camera from andrew (which i bought).

One christmas day we packed up and went down to Paradise Point for breakfast with my sister and her family. Lots of food and plenty of things for the kids to do.We came home at about lunch time then packed up to get ready to go off to Victoria. hello all. Yes yes I know what a slacker I am. I hope that everyones christmas and new year where good and safe. We left the rainy skies of Queensland on boxing day and headed off to victoria via laurieton and Canberra. We finally arrived at Lakes entrance on Friday afternoon. 1700 long kilometres later. it was so nice to be back at Bellbrae and to be able to spend New Years Eve with dad, Joy, Julie and Peter. We had a great 10th Anniversary (NYE) we went on a river cruise up to Wyanga Winery for sampling and lunch totally smashed by the time Joy came down to the harbour to pick us up. We did take home with us 12 bottles of wine, 1 bottle of port and 1 bottle of muscat liquer. NYE was great (after I woke up from my nanna nap) Peter and Julie had friends around and we partied on into the night well I partied till about 2am I think . I let Andrew buy a six pack of bundy rum lights on the friday and he managed to make them last till the Monday so that was good and responsible (god I hope he is not going to be like me lol).

The weather down at Lakes was sooooooooo very hot we had 36-40 degree days arghhh. We left on the Wednesday and stopped at Canberra on the way home. Ed and Andrew went to the war muesuem and I went to Cockington Gardens a little minature village place unfortunately I had on a very thin shirt and no sun screen so I had to hop from shadow to shadow and just take pictures as quickly as I could so I did'nt get sunburnt. I think I was only there for about an hour. We arrived home on Friday afternoon, the most glorious site to ever see was my garage door going up to signal that we had made it home alive and well.

Well the magpies have come out of the nest and happily coming down to the yard I have even managed to name them. there is Whinny because he/she gets a hoarse throat after a while, then there is snuffles because he/she sounds like they have a snotty nose and throat and then there is Rowdy for obvious reason. They still come down each afternoon and sometimes during the day. Fatboy seems to have disappeared I think the lorikeets scare him as there are so many of them and only 1 of him. Good grief I have created feathered monsters. It is absolutely pandamonium here in the afternoon at feed time. The managerie consists of. Well its December already where has the time gone time for another recap
In November we had the Scrapbook City Awards night that also co-incided with the new shop opening. What an absolute fantastic night it was so great to catch up with the girls as always. I even won a prize for best pet layout the prize was fantastic "Mr Birdles" would of been so chuffed that he won (RIP my fine feathered friend I still miss you sooooo much).

Kerri and Leisa new shop is absolutely wonderful and their stock range is fabulous. I just wish they were'nt so far away the drive through coronation drive and toowong is a nightmare sometimes but the trip is so worth it.

Well to my amazement Bruce the magpie does not have twins in the nest he actually has TRIPLETS. Poor Bruce and Lucy that is all they do is feed 3 little hungry beaks. But the great news is that the babies are out of the nest and sitting in the tree branches. The whole street must think that I am one crazy lady always out there with either binoculars, video camera or camera and sometimes even in my PJ's. They'll get over it.

I have started doing a bit of walking to try and reduced a bit of the wide load I am carrying and low and behold I have discovered a duck pond down the end of the street that I did not know was there. Went walking this morning and took some nice photos

It is with such a heavy heavy heart that I write this post. My beloved pet cockatiel "Mr Birdles" aka "Bird" died yesterday afternoon. No sure of what he died from but he did hurt herself rather badly last Friday. The vet said he had concussion but I believe that he also had some other internal injuries. He died in Andrews hand. I miss him soooo much I just can't stop crying. Please don't read this and think I am being stupid after all he was just a bird. God he had such a personality. I use to love the way he would get off his cage and come looking for me. I would always find him in my scrapbooking room. If I was outside he would stand at the door making such a racket to be let outside as well. He even tried to take on Bruce (the magpie) a few times. Bruce would look at him as if to say "You've got to be kidding" If Bruce would start to walk towards Birdles, Birdles would scurry back to me. He would also like to play hide and seek around the outdoor setting. he was my little buddy who would make me laugh and smile all the time. he was forever wanting his head scratched. I can't help feeling partly responsible for his dimise. Maybe if I had not of picked him up yesterday and maybe stirred up his injuries he would still be alive. Never again will I own a pet it just hurts to much when you loose them. They are so helpless and they depend on you to look after them and keep them safe. Well my little friend I am going to miss you so so much thank you for touching my heart and making me laugh and smile. You know how the sign off goes. Oh boy whata bad blogger I became.Alright lets play catch up in point form.
*We have been in the house now for nearly 3 months.
*Baby Magpie is out of the nest.He/she is soooo cute. Raymond (last seasons baby) has been acting really silly lately.coming into the backyard and wanting Bruce to feed him very bizarre as he as been getting his own food. But it is so cute when he flaps his wings and cries to be fed.
* Bruce the magpie can talk. Yes I kid you not. I was in the bedroom yesterday and could hear him in the tree talking like a magpie next I heard a cockatoo and then the cockatoo saying "hello" I thought Bruce was in the tree with a cocky when I looked out the window no cockatoo just Bruce. Then the cockatoo noises started again with the "hello" and whistling and fair enough it was Bruce. Ed said he was doing that at the back door the other day. So yes folk Magpies can talk.
*Have been playing over at 2 croppin cousinz. They are having an October competition to celebrate Halloween. I have had a great time entered some nice layouts which I was happy with. Some of the girls from Scrapbook City have also been playing and are doing fantastically not to drop names Trudi and Kerryn lol.
* Mr birdles gave himself a bit of concussion yesterday by sort of falling off his cage -daft bird- so that resulted in a trip to the vet and $50 poorer.But he is my baby and I don't want to loose him yet.
*Went down to Laurieton a couple of weeks ago to see Dad and Joy. WOW what a great place talk about sea change. Given half a chance I would be living down there it is so nice and calming with mountains in the background and ocean on the doorstep.
*Tonight I am going out to dinner with Carole, Lauren, Niss & Ronnie it will be nice to see them again.

Since moving into our house I have been feeding a couple of magpies I've named Bruce and Raymond. Through a bit of detective work I have figured out that Bruce is a dad and Raymond is coming out of babyhood (he is still slightly brown on the neck)Every day Bruce comes down in the morning and evening for a feed I have even managed to hand feed him. raymond just looks at you and waits for you to throw the food. last night cheeky Bruce decided he did not want to wait outside last night so he came looking for his dinner. I am also adding a couple of photos of cheeky birdles. Well I finally got my camera back and we are now $700 poorer. Next time I think that i will just replace the silly thing. I am trying to learn how to use my camera a bit more effectively so I am doing a part online part class course that the delightful Katie from SBC is running. Finally at long last I think I am getting the hang of the finer points on manual adjusting. Does anyone know about or heard about "The World Transplant Games". No well sit back and let me tell you. For over 20 years the World Transplant Games Federation has been staging international sporting events for transplant athletes in order to demonstrate the physical success of transplant surgery and to raise awareness of the need to increase organ donation.

The Summer World Transplant Games take place every two years where over 1500 athletes representing some 69 countries compete at an extraordinarily high level. Many however just come to enjoy taking part at their own pace and welcome the opportunity to meet with other transplant recipients in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.

The Winter World Transplant Games take place in the intervening years – the next event will be held in Rovaniemi, Finland from 25th to 30th March 2008.

Why am I telling you this you asked. My mum has just come back from Thailand where the 16th World Transplant Games were held. Mum has also been to France and Canada for the Transplant Games. My mum is a remarkable woman she has worked with Transplant patients for over 25 years. For a majority of those years she was in charge of the ward. As retirement age approached she stepped down from running the ward to running the Transplant Outpatient department. Mum is highly respected and has the admiration of a lot of doctors at Princess Alexandra hospital. When new doctors started in the unit they were often told "If Sister Allen says do it you do it don't come asking me" many a time mum has saved a patient life by being pushy and telling doctors "something is wrong come and see this patient NOW" many times they shake their heads and say"Joan how do you do it". They soon learnt that if mum said jump they asked how high. Some poor newbies learnt the hard way from a tongue lashing from the consultant others already knew when they arrived on the ward via reputation. I remember at various times coming home from school and finding a patient or 2 in our lounge room eating dinner. Mum would bring them home as often they would not have any family around them as they often come from far away. Mum would take the kids (PA did Kidney Transplants on children before the childrens hospital took over) into town at christmas time to show them the lights drips, drains and urine bags all came to. She would bribe the children with a drive in the green beetle (VW) up the freeway if they took their anti-rejection medication. Today she runs an extremely busy clinic without the help of any other staff. She goes out to dinner with the patients on a regular basis. All I can say is god help these patients when she retires. Anyway just thought I would share this story with you as my mum is one of the most remarkable people you will every meet when it comes to nursing. i will leave you with a couple of photos from the latest games. please remember don't take your organs to heaven because heaven knows we need them down here.

time is just sooooo getting away. We found out last week that my camera is going to cost over $600 to fix but Ed said we have to get it done so I was not going to argue. I sooooo miss my camera. What else has been happening. Nothing of great excitement I wish I could sleep a lot better at nights but I am all over the place wake up at 1145pm and not go back to sleep till 4am then wake up at 3am and not go back to sleep at all. Something is going on which is obviously disturbing me. Have not seen Freyer in about a month we ummmm had a bit of an altercation and she basically hates me and refuses to come back anyway I got into trouble last time I wrote about Freyer so I am not allowed to talk about her anymore on my blog. Anyway what else oh yes my baby turned 16 last Thursday he is growing up so fast. We went out to dinner with Ex husband parents bit of a shame Andrews father could not be bothered to come to dinner came up with some lame excuse anyway won't go on about that either I was silly to think that he would of made the effort to come out to dinner for his own son's 16th birthday but I had a great time with his parents about the only thing I miss from the marriage.

In a couple of weeks he will have been at his job for 12 months I am soooo proud of him. He is growing up to be quite a delightfuly young man (thank god I got something right). I popped over to Sara's blog and read about her fairy name is I went and got one myself. If I was a fairy this is what I would be named

We had a fathers day dinner down here with Ed's family as nancy and Stephen had come down from gladstone and stayed with us. Isn't that rain just lovely. It would be great if we could get a big downpour. I would of taken a photo of it but my camera is broken, man I could just cry. It was sweet Hannah's 9th birthday yesterday and we went to HJ for a party. Camera would not turn on checked the battery, it was ok so I pulled out the flash card and the some of the little gold prongs broken and bent. so I have to try and get that fixed now. Can't live withouth my canon. Had to use Ally's and mums camera yuk. Dad and Joy are up from Laurieton for a visit. They have sold the caravan and the ute and have a bought a new Honda Civic and will now settle down in their little seaside retirement villa in Laurieton about 30 mins from Port Macquarie. They came over yesterday and stayed till this afternoon it was good to have them. Anyway that is about it I will leave you with some photos ( not taken with my camera) from Hannahbelles birthday. Came home from work this morning and had a bit of a kip on the lounge. Woke up and felt a bit cold so I decided to lay out in the sun. Well Whilst I was away scrapping at the retreat Ed was moving us into our new home. I came home on Sunday and most of the boxes had been unpacked. What a great husband i really appreciated the fact that he did'nt nag me about going to the retreat instead of moving house. But karma came and got me as I had to then sit up at Logan hospital for 4 hours with Andrew on Sunday evening as he came off his bike and injuried his ankle and has been off work since then (he goes back tuesday. It has been 2 weeks since we moved and I absolutely love my house I have even managed to keep it clean since then. My scrapping space has been all set up and life is wonderful. I got myself a new laptop as Queensland Health gives us $1500 towards "professional development" for work each year so I thought why not. So Ed and I can go outside and sit in our pergola and play poker online together as both laptops are now wireless. Friday 27th July was finally RETREAT day yaaaaaayyyyy. What a fantastic time was had. I spent the whole weekend with a fantastic group of ladies some old friends some new. I finally met Tam, Niss, Lauren, Carole(beautiful person and so talented)as well as playing with oldies Sara, Terri, Deb, Sue & Ronnie. Thank you so much Kerri & Leisa and Design Team you really know how to put on a retreat. WHALE WATCHING ON STRADBROKE ISLAND

Ed, Freyer & I caught the water taxi over to Stradbroke Island then caught the bus around to Point Lookout. We were hoping to see the whales. We saw everything else but whales for the first 2 hours then way way out to sea we started to see water spouts and big splashes I tried to capture them with my camera. I have had a few problems scrapping lately, inspiration and ideas have been difficult to come by but I am trudging on. I have finally got over the death of Jess (Bad Bird).Andrew went out straight away and bought a new cockatiel a baby grey one. At first I really tried to resist him and while he was biting me we had a mutual understanding then he decided to go and get friendly so now I can't resist him even Ed likes him he really really loves his scratches and eats alot of different foods. Yes I know I am a bad bad girl it has been so long since I have blogged but it has been a rather hectic time. We decided to sell out townhouse and go back to a regular house. Well we sold the townhouse in 2 days and 17 houses later we finally have one that has passed all inspections. So in a couple of weeks time we will be moving. I have packed up as much of the townhouse as I can. Unfortunately the moving date and the retreat look like they are going to clash but I have already told Ed that I am going and he can either move the house himself of wait till the next week as I am on holidays. I prefer that really so I can put things where I want them. What else has been happening in my life lets see ummmmmm well I turned 41 on June the 15th god it only seems like yesterday that I had my 40th and got my beautiful album. Well it is a sad day in our household today. Jess our beautiful cockatiel and father to the Bad Bird Babies has died. We don't know why but it is a horrible lose for us as he was such a part of our family. Andrew is absolutely devastated Jess was his little buddy. Anything Andrew did Jess would copy. Kess looks so sad and keeps looking and calling for Jess I really feel for her even though the only thing she ever did for me was bite me. Maybe we can tame her now but I am frightened that she will fall off her perch as well. Anyway I will leave you will a little collage of the live and times of Jess the wonderful cockatiel. Hello all,
Well easter is over. I hope everyone had a great time and no one over indulged in chocolate. There were 8 of us plus children who went up to Cania Gorge for the Easter break. It was a really great time lots of drinking and eating and they even tried to kill me in a 4x4 as well as making me walk up bloody great hills. I thought these people were my FRIENDS. One of the drives we went on took us up to an old plane wreck of a WW1 Liberty Bomber called "Beautiful Betsy"which crashed in 1945. She was only discovered in the mid 90's. Awesome site. We were nearly involved in a head-on collision. A car and trailer came flying over the hill too fast and lost control and slammed into the guard rail then bounced off and came to a stop on the middle of the bridge we were about to cross (we gave way as only one lane. No one was hurt just a bit shaken but the car and trailer will be written off. One of the boys dragged it off the bridge. It is soooooo dry out there that when we went for our hike there was no water in any of the creek beds they were totally dry.
Well that is about all for now. My little secret is having its ups and downs but is slowly progressing hopefully it won't be long. Well you can tell that Scrapbook City is back up and running. I have not posted for 2 weeks and I was doing so well. At least it will only be a little catch up. I survived jury duty and earned myself a sweet $290 for the trouble. I have done a lot of nights recently so my scrapping has been steamrolling along lol. Here are a couple of layouts

The 2 layouts above were also done recently. On the SEA WORLD layout I used the new Lil Davis clear stamps. I did'nt even manage to smudge it. I was quite impressed

It's Saturday night and I am just waiting to go to work. I have been selected for jury duty AGAIN on Monday. I think I will ring up and explain that I have worked all night and maybe they will let me off. Jody and I went to the festival on Friday and had not even got in front door and I thought I saw someone I knew and this little face turned around in the pram and yep I was sure it was the person I thought... Sara P. Recognised little Nicholas straight away from all the beautiful layouts his mum does. It was a great show caught up with San and Sue and Kerri & Leisa. Oh the new clear stamps are awesome I could only afford the Little ones I think they were from lil Davis can't be sure but they were nice anyway. Jodes spent heaps I have never seen anyone be consumed by scrapbooking like her she is way worse than me and Deb. But I do so love to see someone so passionate about this hobby. Well it is Thursday night and I am absolutely exhausted. Lets have a little recap of my week. Hey stop yawning I have not even started yet. quiet nights.Friday, Saturday & Sunday night duty were veryqiet Monday on the other hand was rather busy. This was not helped by the fact that I had to do Jury Duty on Tuesday and yes I was chosen to sit on the panel. It was such a stupid case that was a total waste of everyone's time. But we made the defendant happy by making him not guilty. That took up Tuesday and Wednesday the prosecutor and the defense team were both very yummy men reowh. My sleep pattern for these 2 days was all over the place. I was so tired that I took today off. and spent most of it on the couch now i get to start the process all over again tomorrow as I start night duty again. My luck I will get picked again for some case next week. Mum had free tickets for a gold class movie so we went and saw 'Wild hogs" this evening. It was quite funny and the seating was supberb. That is about all I will leave you with some of the BTP things I have made this week. The first one is a bigger version of the exploding box from Alicia's class I did this one for Carnarvon Gorge. The second one is a photo album I made for some of my cruise photos. The idea for album came from my LSS and the ladies name is Debi I just did a few minor changes to it. Another nice quiet night at work and I was able to finish off my reality scrap layout for week 5. It was a night tinged with sadness as we found out that the son of one of the girls that use to work with us was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning on his motorbike. He was only 26. Liz use to be an EN and like me she went to Uni about 5 years ago to do her nursing degree. During this time her daughter decided to get pregnant and then decided it was too hard to look after the baby so Liz took the baby. Then the daughter decided to get pregnant again. Same thing happened so Liz at 44 was not only doing Uni and working she is also raising her grandchildren they are about 5 & 3. Now she has lost her son how much hardship does this woman have to put up with. Anyway that is about it for now. Was on Night duty last night and we were not disturbed all night which was good because I found some of my Mojo hiding in the Tuturial Room. I managed to do 2 layouts one I like quite a lot and the other one I am happy with. I am going to post the holiday layouts I have done so far. Deb and Jody and families went camping this weekend I really wanted to go but Ed had to work so I volunteered to work the night shift over the weekend. Its ok we will all be together at Easter. This Easter we are going to Cania Gorge. I have not finished scrapping last Easters photos yet. "The City" is still down bummer. You can tell I am bored as this is the third or fourth time in a week that I have blogged. Scrapbook City is still down and I am lost and roaming around cyberspace looking for something to do.I've even read everyones blog on my list at least twice a day.
It was one of my days off today and off to Jury Duty I go. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Finally at 12md the judge dismisses us sending his appologies the defendant took a plea I did not even get into the court room. Oh well. I am not needed tomorrow so I get to scrap yippy. Mojo is slowing returning but not doing anything spectacular. I have completed 3 layouts know from my holiday pics. I have decided that there are going to be alot of flip photos as scrapping 110 photos is a daunting job lol. I will post the layouts that I have done tomorrow when the sun is out. Well will you look at this I am making a 2nd post in less than a week woohoo. Ok well I did not get selected for Jury Duty today so I had to go back to work this afternoon. Lord it felt like I had not been away. It was a rather busy night so I was kept well occupied. I have now got 3 days off yess I hear you say she only got back from holidays but I get lucky enough to have to work the weekend well the next THREE weekends actually and wouldn't you believe it I get selected to go for Jury Duty tomorrow. Well done Jen is all I can say. Oh I am still having trouble with my scrapping MOJO but I have managed to start 2 holiday layouts, just 109 more photos to go lol. Today Kylie(from Emerald)came for a visit and finally bought wee Carter. He is 14 weeks today. He is sooooooo cute and I got some great scrapping photos. Well it is back to work on Monday yuk yuk yuk.
I have been selected for Jury Duty for the next 3 weeks so each day I have to ring up to see if I am needed for the next day. Scrapbook City forum is down at present I hope it isn't hackers again. Can't these miserable people find something more constructive and less destructive to do. I have finally played catch up with my layouts. At least I managed to get it uploaded before the site went down. Anyway I am going to go an scrap some of my holiday photos. Still having trouble with my scrapping MoJo. Well we got back from our cruise on Wednesday morning. We had such a good time. The places we visited were Noumea (not a fan of Noumea).Lifou is a little island that belongs to New Caledonia. They had a little market on the island (very expensive for nick-naks)and displayed some traditional dancing and basket and hat weaving very clever.Next stop was Mystery Island absolutely beautiful. We walked around the island went through the markets and then just fell into the water it was simply divine. The next place was Vila (love Vila) the people are so friendly but apparently the government is extremely corrupt and basically the people are on their own. only about 10km of approx 150km is bitumen the rest is dirt road. It was a real eye opener. We went for a canoe ride up a river to a village and was greeted by the chief and warriors. They did some traditional dancing it was great then back for some duty free shopping. The next stop was Champagne Bay, so lovely. Markets all along the beach front (great prices for nick-naks) It gets the name Champagne Bay from the natural spring that runs into the ocean and at low tide apparently you can see little bubbles coming up hence the name Champagne Bay. Then we sailed home. The entertainment was wonderful and the food was out of this world and sooooooo much of it. We also had a win on the roulette on the last 2 nights. Well that is about it in a nut shell all in all a fabulous time can't wait for the next one. Oh dear lord will you look how long ago I updated. Bad Lunatic Bad Lunatic. okay what has been happening. Well not too much excitement. I have gotten 2 more people interested in scrapbooking one of them who has only been scrapping now for about 3 weeks and boy is she doing fantastic work I will get some photos soon and put them up and my boss is also interested I have done a couple of layouts for her I think I only took one photo, will have to take photos of the others. Deb is continuing to also do excellent work I will also put up some of debs work as well I am so proud of these girls that have taken on my passion with such passion of their own unfortunately I don't think I will be too popular with their husbands lol. Okay that is one catch up down lol.

Hello everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Yes I know it is the middle of January but I am such a slack rat so yet again it is time to play catch up. Lets skip through christmas real fast. It sucked I am glad it is over although DH did give me a $200 voucher from Scrapbook City which I absolutely loved and we had breakfast at the Marriott in the city that was nice to. Boxing Day was Ed's family get together lets just say I won't be going to this years. New Years Eve was our 9th Wedding anniversary so we went to lunch down at Sanctuary Cove with some friends. It was Noice. Ed was in bed by about 9pm I was playing poker online when the new year came in. Ok that was not too painful. Lets find out what else has been happening.......Nothing...gee I live an exciting life. My GF Debbie's DD had her 21st and Deb made her an album it was fantastic I will post my contribution. 2 of the layouts were and inspired by my dear buddy Sandra. Thanks San you are always an inspiration to me. I am still trying to get published so if anyone out there has any connections *wink wink nudge nudge* Jeepers all of my layouts are'nt THAT bad come on give a girl a break. Ok what else is news... ummm oh yeah we leave in 3 weeks and 3 days for our cruise. 9 nights on the high, rolling, swelling, heaving seas (oh god I need a bucket) nah it should be great just no scrapbooking bummer I will have to try and get back into reading again. Well that is about all not much else to say. well after a couple of years and heaps and heaps of money. Sharryn and Vince have finally been accepted by the intercountry adoption agency to be new parents of a beautiful little girl born on the 30th October, 2007. She was born in Taiwan and her name will be Mia Wen-Lin. Lets just hope the final adoption process goes quickly for them and they can bring home their little girl soon.

Ok I am determined to update this blog if it kills me. Alright the next exciting event in my life was the Scrapbook City Retreat. Good lord I had soooooo much fun and was just wonderful. I did not finish all the projects and only had minimal sleep but I can't wait to go back next year. Congrats to Kerrie and Leisa great effort and it was so worth the money. I did not take any photos but I will upload some of the work I did. Also whilst we are on the scrapbooking scene a big congratulations to Sandra Gerdes my friend who became a Master. See I told you you could do it. Also a big congrats to Carole Jansen who also became a Master. Terri, Dee, Alicia also got Honourable Mentions. Go girls. One day hopefully my name will be on that list.

Good lordy, it was October the last time I blogged. Looks like I need to play catch up. Ok lets bypass the boring stuff and try and find some interesting goings on in my life -good grief who am I kidding. 3 major exciting things have happened recently.

1. I got invited to the Tri-nations Brisbane rugby league game. I was able to sit in a corporate box and eat and drink all I liked -big mistake- then after the game we were able to go down to the locker room (there were 4 of us) and meet the players. Let me tell you that it is not really a good idea to wear a Rugby jersey when you are at a league game. Well dear one did not tell me that his jersey was rugby (hahahaha he was in Gladstone poor bugger) but I did get lots of photos man is Willy Mason one BIG dude. Mind you I think there is now a wanted poster in the locker room with my photo on it that states"Do not let this mad women anywear near the players" well don't supply he with free booze hehehe. I will post some of the photos from the game up and then start another post with #2 exciting event in Jenny's life

Well three weeks have been and are about to go. I am back at work on Tuesday rats. I have had a rather busy time the last 3 weeks. Have done quite a bit of scrapping and played the game "out and about" that is where I get in my car and travel to places where people will have me. Unfortunately I was unable to catch up with Leisa T. Sorry Leisa. Lets see...what has been happening of late. Andrew (15) has left school well it was a mutual decision between him and the school. 3 days later he found a full time job working for a company called Prehung Doors. So far so good he is also still working at Coles 12 hours a week so I feel pretty proud. The only unfortunate problem starting to occur is attitude I try not to react to badly because I do realize this is part of the pathway through adolescent. I do fire up when he goes too far but most of the time I just try and let it go. The birds have laid 5 eggs and are being such wonderful parents(fingers crossed that they start hatching next weekend)Jess does his fair share of egg sitting. My "Feel Good About Yourself" moment this week goes to Sandra G. San you have inspired me many many times with your beautiful layouts you should feel proud of yourself. Well isn't it a glorious day. The rain is coming down and I am on 3 weeks holiday. What intensely interesting things have been happening to me lately. ummm.. errrr. gee nothing really wait I lie. My baby boy (whose 15) has left school and got himself a full time job I am so proud of him so now he is working 38hrs/week as well has his 12hrs with coles. He works more hours than Ed and myself. character building I say its all character building besides he has expensive taste. What else did I tell you I was on holidays hhehehe. Well Debbie finally gets home tonight yippee. That girl is never leaving the country again or if she does she will be taking me. Scrap club at Leones place was great the other night it is so much fun catching up with the girls and just talking and scrapping and eating wicked food. My friend who is adopting from overseas has given me the adoption album to fix up as I have to change it from South Korea to Taiwan. There is about 8 layouts that need to be changed and I have run out of UnDu. Have to go and get some more I think it will save me alot of time if I can just remove the parts that need to be corrected instead of doing the whole layout again. Ok who will be this weeks "Feel Good About Yourself" recipient let me see. Ok this weeks recipient is Jenny W from Sydney. Jenny has been a very busy girl lately what with her new job and on top of that she is busy organizing swaps for us Onya Jenny. You are doing a fantastic job and we sincerely thank you for it. Last weekend we went down to Jacobs Well as it was Eddie's dad's 10th anniversary of his death. So we went down and did the flowers in the water bit. When he passed away the Air & Sea Rescue people took Ed and his family down to his dad's favourite fishing spot so they could spread his ashes so you could say that Ed's dad "is swimming with the fishes"

okay okay I,m not real good at blogging. Alright what has been happening lately. I am missing Debbie terribly at the moment and according to her SMS's I think she would rather be at home. This trip was 2 years in the planing and a lot of money lets hope it has not been as bad as it sounds. I having been scrapping up a storm lately some I am really happy with others well not so happy.I so enjoyed the Scrapbook City cybercrop the other night. The only problem was that I was too busy "talking" that I was unable to scrap. I did manage to complete 2 of the layouts.

Yay I fixed my Banner

I finally got around to fixing my Banner. It is still not perfect but it is better than it was (Well I think so anyway lol). What did I get up to over the weekend. As per usual not much. I am slowly making my way through the Wedding album for the girl at work I will be glad to finish. I can't wait to get back to just scrapping the one project instead of 15 or so in a series. It really does put a mental strain on creativity. I girlfriend Debbie left to go on holidays back home to the UK yesterday. What am I going to do for 4weeks and 5 days while she is away. Anyway she has made it safely to Heathrow lets just hope she gets out of the airport alive lol. I have decided to do a special mention each week (If I remember) I am going to call it "Jenny's Feel Good About Yourself Moment". Our first "Feel Good About Yourself moment" goes to Carole Janson (Gladstone..Rocks). Carole I so love your work the "Cutie Pie" layout is spectacular and I love the way you do the flowers. You made me go out and buy all this PP with big flowers all over them lol. I hope you enjoy your "Moment". I finished my "Sweet Boy" layout from Friday Nights crop. I quite like it just wondering if I should add some journalling. If anyone has any ideas please don't hesitate to let me know. Well thats it. 3 more days of work then it is scrapping time. Going to a Scrap at Hope's place on Saturday night. I love going to crops.

I went to Scrapbook City last night for a crop and met both Kerri & Leisa who run Scrapbook City lovely ladies and very helpful. I also met up with Kaye. Great to see you lovey. Oh God I am a goose

We had our Scrap Club meet at my place on Saturday night and it was so much fun. I really enjoyed myself and met a new member Amanda nice to meet you lovey. During the night it came up about blogs and some of the girls were saying to me that they could not leave comments on my blog. Here I was thinking that no one was reading it so I had not bothered to write alot well guys I think I have fixed that problem so feel free to comment. The weekend was a good weekend for Ed ( I was sleeping most of the time due to Night duty) Freyer stayed until this morning (Monday) she was great over the whole weekend. She ate all her meals and snacks without a fuss. We are slowing getting somewhere but I am not daft enough to believe that we are anywhere near ready to join the human race. If she was to come home I know that she would probably be good for a little while but then the same old cycle would start again. So we are just happy to have her here weekends she spends one weekend with her mum and one weekend with us. I have attached some photos from Saturday night and also the layout I did of "Madam". Birthday Weekend Away

My delightful husband Ed took me away for 3 nights down to the Gold Coast. We had a great time eating drinking and taking in the sights. I had a surprise 2 hour massage, a trip to South Stradbroke Island and a trip up the fantastic Q1 Tower in Surfers Paradise. I was really excited about the photos I took at dusk from the top on the 77th floor.

Well I have decided that it is time to play catch up yet again. What has happened since last time oh yeah. I TURNED 40. I had a fantastic day celebrated with good friends and family and a dinner to die for.
My girlfriends took me to a Day Spa at Indooroopilly for a massage, sauna and spa
then we had lunch at Dicey Rileys at Garden City then

Chinese across the road with 40 work friends and family. I felt so special here are a couple of photos of the day.

I am so lazy when it comes to blogging. But i suppose you really need something to blog first lol. Well not alot has been happening I am getting really excited about tomorrow (Sat 10th) I get to unveil my album then next Thursday I turn 40 ohh I don't know whether to celebrate or run and hide. Tomorrow we are getting Freyer and taking her to the BBQ then she will stay the night before going to her mums on Sunday. We had her last Sunday and she was really good she had all the meals she was suppose to and her behaviour was excellent I hope that she does the same this weekend. I realize that her current attitude may not last long and she could revert back to not eating but hey we will take any positive.
I got an early start this week for the Cybercrop and have finished and uploaded it to the gallery this morning.Well that is it for the moment. I have read a few blogs and have noticed that the name Jenny has been mentioned at the end in regards to tagging if that is referring to me could people just say True Blue I will know it is me as there are alot of Jenny's and I would hate to presume something that was not intended for me. Clever Little Chicken

Well I learnt how to create a new banner for my blog. thanks Sara you where a great help. I can now do layers which always tricked me up but I have it conquered now yet again Thanks Sara. The banner looks a bit big but when I get a few hours up my sleeve I will do a bit of tweaking.Made a journey out to the Boondocks last night to Peta's undercover underwear party. I finally got my dressing gown that I have been looking for and it only cost me $46. I have also booked a party so that should be fun. Things are just cruising along for us at the moment which is a nice change. I have to do a scrapbooking wedding album for a girl at work and also a couple of layouts for another girl who has just lost her teenage daughter that is going to be difficult to do. I can't wait to get this months SM mag as I want to check out the masters comp. Well that is about all.
